Graham Westley has declared himself happy with Boro’s performnaces so far, highlighting that 4 points from the opening 3 games is better than last season, which itself turned out pretty well. He told the Comet:

“We`ve got more points after three games this season than we did last and we went on to have a very successful year last year, so I guess if that`s a benchmark then that`s something for us to think about. Yes we`d have loved to have won all three games and I think we could`ve won all three games. Our start has been alright in performance terms, I`m sure we can produce better in results terms and I`m sure as we learn, as we grow, as we develop we will.”

Westley also said to the Comet that he did envisage any big changes before the transfer window closes this week:

“My budget is spent so no there`s not likely to be any business. I`ve always been in a situation since I`ve been back here where it`s one in one out and I`ve not got it in mind particularly to move anybody. I`m not planning anything significant between now and the transfer window nor is there any real rush. If you get an injury you can bring in an emergency loan.’

Of course this could just be mind games, and maybe half of Man City’s unsettled squad will pitch up at Broadhall Way on Tuesday evening…

As we continue to pick up the injuries and suspensions, we’ll see how good the squad is. I have my doubts.
