Having picked up 13 points from a possible 15 across recent games manager Graham Westley has been delighted with our uplift in form and the winning mentality the side have begun to show, but ahead of our trip to York City, the manager has warned we will have to be ‘right on our mettle’ if we want to get the result we are after.

Speaking to the Official Site with Stevenage now in touching distance of the play off spots owing to the run we are on, the gaffer said that this weekend’s game would be especially difficult.

‘It’s a tough encounter. It’s a long journey up north and we know that over the course of the season we haven’t been good enough on our travels so we know we’ve got a lot of work to do to win more points when we’re making our journeys. We’ve spent the week focusing on getting ourselves right and making sure we go there in the right mind set to win the three points and the football match.’

Westley goes on to say that York probably haven’t been as good as they would have wanted, but for him there has been clear improvement under their new manager so nobody should underestimate the task ahead of us, especially as they have had some big results in recent weeks against top clubs in the division so they’ll be looking to continue that pattern themselves.

The manager also said that the return of Calvin Zola had been a good boost for everyone, but he was still a long way off 100% fitness and sharpness, so we needed to be patient and let him get back to speed as by his own standards he’s ‘miles off’ but it will come.
