We started the season adjusting to life in League Two following relegation and as we entered 2015 and the half way point of the season, manager Graham Westley looked back on the first half of the campaign.

Speaking to the Official Site with the team playing themselves into a little run of form over the Christmas period, the gaffer said.

‘Half way through the season our 10th placed position is a pretty fair reflection on what we have been so far. Namely, we have struggled to come together as a new team with injury disruption at the heart of our problems and fitness deficits being a consequence of that disruption. Let’s not hide from it, we have largely fallen short of the standards set by the teams above us because of these things.’

Westley says that with a return of ten points from nine games with sides higher up the table, but a return of 24 points from 13 against sides below, shows exactly what we have to change heading into 2015 if we want to improve our position by May.

Of course though being a new team, they will click more coming into the second half of the season and with injuries slowly clearing up, Westley says he expects us to show more natural improvements as time goes by now though, and with a growing confidence that in turn should help us to more points and more regular and consistent results.

‘It’s going to remain a ‘one game at a time’ exercise and as we move into the New Year we are just thinking about the best way of giving ourselves the best opportunity of winning.’
