Defender Sam Wedgbury has taken to Twitter to inform fans that he has left Stevenage by mutual consent and now signed a new deal with Forest Green Rovers.

I can’t see any official confirmation of this from Stevenage itself, but his tweet read.

‘Just want to thank the fans at Stevenage for being very supportive throughout the season, I’ve left the club by mutual consent.’

Wedgbury joined us last summer from Macclesfield Town and started our first three matches at right back, but then only totted up seven appearances over the course of the rest of the season.

He becomes the second player to leave the club this week following the departure of Filipe Morais.
