On loan midfielder John Mousinho’s Preston contract expires in the summer, and he hasn’t ruled out staying at Stevenage if the right offer comes his way.

Speaking to the Comet24 the 28 year old said he hadn’t yet fully investigated his options for the summer with his contract coming to an end with Preston and obviously no renewal likely to be offered, but having returned to us at the end of January, playing 16 times and scoring once, he admitted he wouldn’t dismiss helping Stevenage rebuild back in League Two, but it would be dependent on the offer that came his way.

‘I’d certainly consider staying if the offer came along, depending on what it is. You never know, it’s just speculation at the minute. Obviously, I think I’ve got a pretty good affinity with the fans that welcomed me back brilliantly for the last three months and it’s just a shame that season finished in relegation.’

Now that the season is over and teams and players plan for the next campaign, Mous adds that he knows his future will become clear or at least clearer over the next few weeks, as at the moment he hasn’t a ‘clue’ what the future might hold for him, and he doesn’t believe that the club nor manager Graham Westley have yet finalised plans, budgets and so on, but he knows there’s plenty of time for that to happen and then he’ll see ultimately what happens.
