It’s being reported that Stevenage have agreed to the mutual cancellation of Filipe Morais’ contract following our relegation from League One.

The Portuguese winger moved to the club from Oldham back in 2012 and originally signed a three year deal, but is now a free agent and free to investigate options for a new employer for next season.

This season he played in 35 games for the club and scored eight goals, with his last match coming against Colchester back in April where he was dismissed in the final minute.

A short statement from his agents, Tony Asghar and Jonathan Hope read.

‘We have resolved this and are now looking forward to present the player with options. We would like thank Stevenage for their co-operation.’

No official confirmation yet on the official site, but local press are saying it’s been confirmed by the club and reference Morais’ ‘fiery’ history with us and an earlier fall out with manager Graham Westley.
