Stevenage’s League 2 season continued with a defeat against Northampton at the Sixfields Stadium on Saturday.

A late point at Portsmouth kept the Stevenage unbeaten run going, however Boro saw this ended at Northampton at the weekend when the in-form Cobblers came from behind, after Steven Schumacher (24) had scored his first goal to give Stevenage a half time lead, ran out two-one winners.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (49) had Northampton level shortly after the break with Alfie Potter (62) winning it for the Cobblers with Stevenage, once again, remaining in 20th place despite the outcome.

These were the match highlights.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 24th October
Accrington 3-1 Dag & Red
Bristol Rovers 1-4 Newport
Exeter 1-1 Notts County
Hartlepool 1-2 Crawley
Luton 1-2 Plymouth
Morecambe 0-1 Leyton Orient
Northampton 2-1 Stevenage
Oxford Utd 2-3 Barnet
Portsmouth 0-0 Mansfield
Wycombe 1-1 Carlisle
Yeovil 2-3 Cambridge
York 1-3 Wimbledon

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Newport, Plymouth and Barnet.

Another Newport win was secured, with the improvement under Sheridan continuing, with an impressive four-one win at Bristol Rovers! This win not only secured the Exiles the three-points at the Memorial Stadium it also saw them off the foot of the Football League!

Plymouth winning at Luton might not be especially ‘stand out’ but this two-one win at Kenilworth Road meant the Pilgrims not only retained top spot but were able to extend that lead over others too.

The Kassam Stadium saw a ‘five-goal thriller’ as Barnet caused an upset to beat Oxford three-two, as the U’s looked to move into the top two, if not top if results went for them! The Bees hadn’t read that script!
