Stevenage’s League 2 season continued with a win against Wycombe at the Lamex Stadium on Saturday.

The result of the League 2 weekend has to go to Stevenage with a poor run of form with a win over Wycombe when Boro stunned the Chairboys two-one, however Sheringham sees his side stay in 20th.

The deadlock was broken in unlikely fashion when ‘keeper Jesse Joronen (10) scored with a clearance to put Stevenage ahead before Armand Gnanduillet (60), who also hit the bar with a header, made it two.

Wycombe pulled one back late on from Max Kretzschmar (79) but Stevenage hung on.

These were the match highlights.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 17th October 2015
Wimbledon 2-5 Morecambe
Barnet 3-1 York
Cambridge 2-1 Northampton
Carlisle 1-0 Exeter
Crawley 2-1 Luton
Dag & Red 0-1 Hartlepool
Leyton Orient 2-2 Oxford Utd
Mansfield 1-2 Bristol Rovers
Newport 0-1 Portsmouth
Notts County 2-0 Yeovil
Plymouth 1-0 Accrington
Stevenage 2-1 Wycombe

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Morecambe, Crawley, Bristol Rovers and of course Stevenage!

Winning at Wimbledon wouldn’t have been a surprise as such for Morecambe, however the Shrimps going away from Kingsmeadow with the three-points after an emphatic five-two win wouldn’t have been anticipated as Jim Bentley’s side again showed the firepower they have!

A win against Leyton Orient was followed up by another impressive win for Crawley at the Broadfield Stadium when they beat Luton two-one to continue, what could be, a turnaround in fortunes for the Reds.

Mansfield’s chance to keep right in touch with the top three, not that this setback has set them back too much as such, took a bit of a blow when, in a game that saw three players sent off and two of them for the Stags, Bristol Rovers went away from the One Call Stadium with a two-one win.

Stevenage are back in action this midweek with an away game against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.
