Stevenage’s League 2 season continued with a draw against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Tuesday.

It looked like Stevenage might come away from Portsmouth with nothing, on Teddy Sheringham’s return to his former side, when Chaplin (77) gave Pompey a late lead but in injury-time Williams (90), who had come off the bench, earned Boro a points from a one-one draw.

These were the match highlights.

You can see more like this on StevenageFC.

The other results this midweek were as follows:-

Tuesday 20th October
Accrington 3-4 Wimbledon
Bristol Rovers 0-0 Notts County
Hartlepool 1-1 Barnet
Luton 1-1 Leyton Orient
Morecambe 3-1 Crawley
Northampton 3-2 Carlisle
Oxford Utd 1-0 Plymouth
Portsmouth 1-1 Stevenage
Wycombe 0-2 Newport
Yeovil 0-1 Mansfield
York 2-2 Dag & Red

There’s still one game to be played tonight.

Wednesday 21st October
Exeter v Cambridge 19:45

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Wimbledon, Oxford and Newport.

Defensively you would have to say Wimbledon have ‘issues’ as they conceded five at the weekend and also three in midweek but this time, in a seven-goal thriller, the Wombles ran out four-three winners at Accrington.

Plymouth retained top spot in League 2 but Oxford closed the gap on them to within a couple of points, with the U’s remaining 3rd, following a one-nil win over Argyle at the Kassam Stadium.

It’s been a tough time for Wycombe recently since losing top spot a few weeks ago, beaten by Crawley at the weekend they then suffered a two-nil defeat at Adams Park against rock bottom Newport, who remain that way on goal-difference alone now.

Who was the Stevenage Man of the Match in this game? That’s what the latest poll is asking so do cast a vote.
