Chairman Phil Wallace has confirmed that young striker Ben Kennedy has now signed a new deal with the club.

The 18 year old broke into the first team earlier this year and put in a number of impressive showings over his 17 appearances in total, and whilst there was a mix of starts and then substitute appearances he did find the net on four occasions.

This season he has played in four games and the Northern Irishman has scored in our last two matches following his recovery from surgery over the summer.

Wallace revealed to the Official Site that it was a new and improved three year deal for the youngster.

‘The fact that Ben is playing Football League games again just 11 or 12 weeks post-op is amazing in itself and testament to how highly he`s regarded by the Club. At 18 he will no doubt have his ups and downs but we think he can learn a lot in the position he plays from Teddy Sheringham and we`re looking forward to seeing him improving along with our other younger players.’
