Stevenage are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Jesse Joronen in the two one victory over Wycombe Wanderers at the weekend at The Lamex was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance between the sticks – but a certain opening goal – why Joronen was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Well, this wasn’t a difficult one! Joronen played his part in Stevenage’s Sky Bet League 2 success over Wycombe Wanderers, but not in the way you probably expect. The on-loan Fulham man opened the scoring for Teddy Sheringham’s men with a long clearance, and his side held on for a 2-1 triumph.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Joronen for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points despite us being overlooked in the weekend football tips.

Full Team:

Jesse Joronen (Stevenage), Donervorn Daniels (Wigan), Adam Webster (Portsmouth), Ian Evatt (Chesterfield), Bobby Grant (Fleetwood), Alex Gilliead (Carlisle), Ben Reeves (MK Dons), Alan Judge (Brentford), Shaun Miller (Morecambe), Andre Gray (Burnley), Chris Martin (Derby).

Manager – Steve Cotterill (Bristol City).
