The player made 49 appearances for the club last season, but with a deal struck, he will now move on.

The club have also confirmed that Lucas Akins, Darius Charles and James Dunne have all had their deals with the club extended by 12 months owing to a clause in their existing deals.

Speaking following the move, Smith, who was with us for only one season, said that he’d worked with Crawley manager John Gregory previously and he was looking forward to linking up with him again for the coming campaign.
