Stevenage are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Joe Fryer in the one nil victory over Barnet at the weekend at The Hive was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Fryer was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Stevenage moved to third in the Sky Bet League Two table, but were made to work hard for all three points in their 1-0 win at Barnet. Following the dismissal of Dale Gorman, goalkeeper Fryer was regularly called into action, and produced a Man of the Match display as they held on.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Fryer for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Joe Fryer (Stevenage), Charlie Mulgrew (Blackburn Rovers), Shaun Hutchinson (Millwall), Sid Nelson (Yeovil Town), Kyel Reid (Colchester United), Kamil Grosicki (Hull City), Alex Woodyard (Lincoln City), Kalvin Phillips (Leeds United), Gwion Edwards (Peterborough United), Frank Nouble (Newport County), Tom Eaves (Gillingham).

Manager – Harry Kewell (Crawley Town).
